After having evolved in various experimental punk/rock formations in the eighties in Japan, Emiko Ota, batteuse/percussionist and singer, settle in Paris and joined the Mami Chan band. More recently, she formed with her husband Andrew Sharpley, the musical outfit « ae », a mixture of laptop based rythmic cut ups, shouty punk collages and sweet melodic stuff.
Emiko also forms part of the japanese traditional musical project Sakura.
